The new fee represents nearly a 5% jump from last year and a 10% increase over the cost paid a year ago. The program remains available at dozens of major U.S. airports and selected venues.
Clear+ allows users to complete a photo verification at a kiosk and then proceed directly to baggage scanners, skipping the main TSA line. The service is popular among frequent travelers seeking to reduce pre‑flight wait times.
An add‑on option permits members to include up to three additional adults for a flat fee of $125, unchanged from the previous year.
Cardholders of the American Express Platinum Card receive a statement credit that can fully offset the Clear+ annual fee. The credit applies to purchases of the membership and is renewed automatically each year.
New members may qualify for a first‑year discount of $50 and a complimentary concierge booking, which can assist with security line management. The discount applies to new subscriptions only.
Passengers holding elite status with Delta, United, Alaska, or Hawaiian airlines are eligible for discounted Clear+ rates, offering another cost‑saving option.
