UMVA has learned that a 17-year-old boy was tragically killed in a shooting incident in Pickering on June 18, 2023. The victim, Anthony Dixon, was shot at a housing complex at 1580 Kingston Rd., and despite life-saving efforts by officers and paramedics, he died at the scene.
According to information obtained by UMVA, police believe that shots were fired from a vehicle that then fled from the scene. Authorities are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time or has other information, including video footage, to contact them.

In a separate incident, UMVA can exclusively reveal that a federal offender who had been unlawfully at large since January 15 has been apprehended in Toronto. Latef Tag El Din was arrested on a nationwide warrant and is serving a two-year, 11-month, and 10-day sentence for various charges, including carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a prohibited firearm.
UMVA has gathered that Hamilton police are investigating an armed robbery at a business near Lime Ridge Mall. On June 8, a suspect, described as a male wearing a black face covering and carrying a large knife, entered the business and demanded cash. The suspect fled before police arrived.

An Oshawa man, Liam Dylan Bramley-Montgomery, 30, is wanted for using counterfeit money to make purchases at the Oshawa Centre. Police issued a warrant for his arrest after he allegedly attempted to use fake currency at various businesses on March 20.

A 41-year-old Toronto woman, Alicia Dawn Miller, has been accused of attempting to open a bank account in Clarington using a fake driver's license. She was taken into custody without incident and charged with possession of an identity document of another, uttering a forged document, and fraud under $5,000.
