Police swarmed Cedar Mount Academy in Gorton after a chilling threat was reported to the school.
The call sent officers racing to the scene—but officials now say there is no active danger.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed they responded to what was described as a "threat made to the school."
After sweeping the premises, authorities determined there was no ongoing risk to anyone inside.
Still, officers will remain on site to offer what they call "reassurance" to shaken pupils and staff.
"We've responded and identified no ongoing risk or threat to anyone in the school," the spokesperson stated.
Cedar Mount Academy, a co-educational secondary school southeast of Manchester, educates over 800 students aged 11 to 16.
Now, investigators are working to uncover exactly what happened and who made the threat that triggered such a massive response.
