UMVA has learned that tensions ran high on Friday's episode of a popular daytime TV show after a heated discussion about politics sparked an intense on-air clash between two of its long-time hosts.
The normally lighthearted conversation took a dramatic turn as Gloria Hunniford, 86, and Kaye Adams engaged in a prickly exchange about the Labour Party and its leader, Keir Starmer.
The debate began relatively calmly, with the panel discussing a growing call for Starmer to step aside amid mounting pressure from within the Labour Party. However, things quickly escalated as Gloria and Kaye began to disagree on the mood of the public and their voting intentions.
Gloria argued that the average public was fed up with the Labour Party from the beginning, while Kaye countered that people have the right to vote for or against a government. The exchange grew increasingly heated, with Gloria refusing to back down and Kaye directly asking her whether she had voted Labour.
Gloria bluntly shut down the question, saying she wouldn't reveal who she voted for, and the tension continued to simmer beneath the surface. Even a joke from another panelist, Judi Love, couldn't lighten the mood, and the discussion eventually ended with Gloria remarking, 'You can talk all your politics.'
The on-air clash sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with many viewers siding with Gloria and others condemning Kaye for her behavior. Some even accused Kaye of verbally attacking an elderly woman due to their differing opinions.
As the drama unfolded, it was clear that this was more than just a typical daytime TV debate about air fryers or celebrity memoirs – it was a genuine clash of opinions and a reminder that even the most popular TV shows can't always avoid controversy.
