A heated exchange between twobaseballfans resulted in one of them losing her job after she threatened to callImmigration and Customs Enforcementon the rival fan on Tuesday.
Ricardo Fosado, a Los Angeles Dodgers fan, attended Game 2 of the National League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field inWisconsinto cheer on his team. The game ended with the Dodgers winning 5-1, ahead of which Fosado asked why everyone for the Brewers was “quiet,” according to a video shared on Instagram.
Fosado’s question prompted Brewers fan Shannon Kobylarczyk to call him a “pussy” and request that people call ICE on him. Fosado responded by saying he is a U.S. citizen and two-time war veteran, and “ICE is not going to do anything to me.”
Kobylarczyk has since lost her job at ManpowerGroup US — her LinkedIn account has also been deactivated — though Fosado told theWashington Examinerthat he thought this was “extreme.”
“I feel bad for her and her family,” Fosado said.
Fosado was also ejected from the stadium before the game ended, admitting he swore at Kobylarczyk. He confirmed to theWashington Examinerthat he did not get a refund for his ticket.
ManpowerGroup US posted on Instagram that Kobylarczyk was placed on leave “as soon as we became aware of this video.”
“As a result of this process, the employee is no longer with the organization,” the statement reads. “We remain committed to maintaining a culture grounded in respect, integrity, and accountability.”
Kobylarczyk was also a board member for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. The organization confirmed to theWashington Examinerthat she has since resigned in the wake of the viral video.
