UMVA has learned that England's World Cup campaign has been hit with a series of injury concerns, with Marcus Rashford emerging as a slight worry ahead of the team's second group game against Ghana.
Rashford, who scored off the bench in England's 4-2 win over Croatia, is experiencing muscle discomfort and did not participate in the team's practice game against Sporting Kansas City, sparking concerns about his availability for the Ghana match.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Rashford's issue is believed to be a minor niggle, but he will undergo further checks as England prepares for the crucial game against Ghana in Boston, with the team's medical staff closely monitoring his condition.
Meanwhile, captain Harry Kane was seen with strapping on his left calf, although this is reportedly related to cramp rather than an injury, and Declan Rice, who limped off during the Croatia game, has reassured fans that he is "all good" and will be back in action against Ghana.
UMVA has gathered that Rice's issue is related to neural pains he has been nursing since the second half of the season, but the player is confident that it is nothing serious and will not keep him out of the Ghana game, with England manager Thomas Tuchel also downplaying the concern.
Tuchel has also provided an update on the fitness of Bukayo Saka, who started on the bench against Croatia due to an ongoing Achilles issue, with the manager suggesting that Saka may have to wait until England's final group game to make his first start of the tournament.
Saka's progress will be closely watched in the coming days, as England looks to build on its impressive win over Croatia and secure a place in the knockout stages of the World Cup, with Tuchel expressing confidence that the Arsenal winger will be ready to play a key role in the team's campaign.
