David Haye plans on suing ITV for ‘way more than £10,000,000’

David Haye plans on suing ITV for ‘way more than £10,000,000’

Haye said: ‘The answer is yes. I’m not sure if you know me that well but those who do know that I don’t like getting pushed around. I don’t like people taking advantage.

‘I’ve had stuff happen in the past, I’ve let certain stuff go, but as I’ve got older I’m like, nah, you’re taking the p**s. I’m going to take it as far as it needs to go.’

Haye was part of an acrimonious conclusion to the all-stars final, which saw him swoop in to join Jimmy Bullard’s squabble against Adam Thomas, who went on to win the show and be crowned the so-called Ultimate Legend.

While the scenes filmed last autumn in South Africa aired, Haye was accused of ‘bullying’ the Waterloo Road star, who he said was not a ‘worthy winner’ during the live broadcast from London.

He also caught heat from fans for his views on women, including a notorious theory on what he dubbed ‘ugly duckling syndrome’, which was branded ‘sexist’ by campmate Beverley Callard.

Haye has now accused ITV of ‘manipulating’ scenes from the show. He said: ‘When you’re right and the decision comes down to a judge.

‘Once the tapes have been viewed and the evidence has been presented, they’ll realise that this reality TV might not be that real, maybe it’s manipulated heavily and directed in a certain narrative for a specific reason.

‘I’m looking forward to a judge seeing exactly what went down, so they can make their decision.’

In terms of the fee Haye will be seeking in compensation, he spoke cryptically, saying: ‘There are lots of different elements I can’t talk about but in regards to how much this claim is going to be, I’m hearing this £10 million number banded around.

‘The number I’m going to hit them with is way more than that.’
