A high‑speed collision on the westbound I‑10 in Ontario, California, last October resulted in a catastrophic crash that sent a plume of fireball across the freeway.
Three people lost their lives and several others sustained serious injuries in the incident, which involved eight vehicles, including four semi‑trucks.

For more than a day after the crash, the California Highway Patrol held back the identity of the driver, releasing it only after a 24‑hour investigation.
The driver, identified as Jashanpreet Singh, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Toxicology reports later determined he was not under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.
Singh is an undocumented immigrant who had been released at the California border in March 2022.
Immigration authorities have placed a detainer request on Singh, but no formal criminal charges have yet been filed.
