Dannii Minogue is back on screens for the highly anticipated second season of I Kissed A Girl, a show that has captured the hearts of many with its unique take on romance and self-discovery.

The series follows a group of 10 single girls as they head to Italy for a long, hot summer of love, with sparks flying from the very beginning.

However, this year's series has been met with sadness, as it was announced that the show would not be returning for a third season.

In a recent interview, Minogue expressed her disappointment, but also her determination to focus on celebrating the show's incredible season and the community it represents.

"There have been so many emotions to go through since then," Minogue said. "The only thing I can do is try and shoot an arrow through all of those emotions that come up for all the people that I'm sad for, and just say, 'What can I do?'"

Minogue is proud of the work that has gone into creating I Kissed A Girl, which features a diverse cast of characters and explores themes of love, identity, and acceptance.

"We made the show to celebrate these people, to celebrate the community, to have something that was joyous and real and entertaining," Minogue said. "I feel like the more we focus on that conversation, the more it takes it away – but it has to be addressed as well."

Minogue also spoke about the importance of representation and diversity in media, particularly for the LGBTQ+ community.

"There has to be something like this on TV," Minogue said. "It's important on many levels, and the thing that astounds me is the people that still ask why Pride is important, why is it important to raise this flag or have this day. The conversation blows my mind."

Despite the challenges faced by the show, Minogue remains hopeful that it will find a new home and continue to make a positive impact on its audience.

"I'll fight so hard to find one," Minogue said. "It's something that needs a lot of love and a lot of care."

I Kissed A Girl is available to stream on BBC iPlayer, with new episodes dropping on Tuesdays, and also airing on BBC Three from 9pm.
